Tourism Arrivals - Jun 2019
During June, arrivals from Europe were encouraging. Another month of higher Euro vis-a-vis the Rupee has helped the 21% and 28% increase in French and German arrivals respectively. Despite ongoing Brexit uncertainty, Britons registered a 3% increase in their arrivals.
Conversely, on the Asian side, arrivals have continued their downtrend. Chinese arrivals shrank by 37%, followed by Indians with a 17% drop.
As regards the African side, arrivals were positive with South Africa and Reunion Island up by 16% and 11% respectively.
Overall, tourist arrivals in June 2019 were 9.5% higher than June 2018.
